why mr?
Why not? That’s what we said to ourselves when first considering the idea of making film. Michal had been writing for small productions and collectives for several years and Rowan had been running events and music productions for nearly a decade. We considered it and determined to make it happen. Together, MR (Michal + Rowan), encompasses our approach of making our own opportunities and fostering a creative and supportive community along the way. We’re stronger together and firmly believe that women get it done. That’s why we’re proud to be MR!
Michal Strauss
Michal is a writer, producer, and gamer. She has been writing film and television for many years and is currently a writer for indie games. She is passionate about cultivating ideas and stories that resonate with people from all walks of life and diving into the depths of human experience. She loves all things organization, sci-fi, and films that make her cry (most of them, tbh).
Rowan Faris
Rowan Faris is a director, producer, and all-around creative. She has a passion for all things out-of-the-box, especially when there is a dynamic story to tell and an amazing group of people to work with. She learned very early on that everyone has a story to tell and if you work hard enough, you may be lucky enough to share that story in a meaningful way with others.
